Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, borrowing limits, etc.

Who can get a card

Any resident whose physical address is located in Denton County or anyone who pays property taxes to the City of Pilot Point and/or Denton County is eligible for a free library card. Those under the age of 17 may receive a library card if a parent or legal guardian has a library and meets residential requirements.  Individuals who live outside of Denton County may be eligible to receive a library card upon payment of a nonrefundable annual fee.  Fees are:  $15.00 for an individual and $20.00 for a family.

How to Get Your Card

Present a picture ID and proof of residency with current street address.  Proof of residency examples:  utility bill, insurance card, personal mail with postmark, etc.

Borrowing Limits

For the first 30 days of card issuance, patrons may borrow 1 DVD and 4 books at check-out.  After 30 days (if the patron is in good standing), patrons may borrow 2 DVDs and unlimited books at check-out.   All materials check-out for 2 weeks.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items

Books can be renewed one time (unless on hold for another patron) but DVDs cannot be renewed.  To renew items:  Call or bring into the Library (before their due date.)

Returning Items

All material may be returned at the front desk or deposited in the drive-through bookdrop located at the rear of the library.
